関節技
A Japanese term encompassing the full range of restriction techniques that act upon the wrist–elbow–shoulder joint complex.
These techniques fall into three main categories: extension, internal rotation, and external rotation.
It is well documented that under extension, the structure most at risk is the elbow joint, whereas under rotation, the shoulder bears the greatest strain.
Like all restriction methods, kansetsu waza techniques carry significant risk and must never be applied without thorough anatomical knowledge and understanding.
Equally important: a technique designed for the arm should never be used on the lower limbs.
